Im Laufe der 102 Konzerte in 40 Ländern haben Depeche Mode – Dave Gahan, Martin Gore und Andrew ‘Fletch’ Fletcher – auf ihrer Tour Of The Universe vor mehr als 2,7 Millionen Zuschauer gespielt – ein fast epische Reise.

Tour of the Universe: Barcelona 20/21.11.09 enthält 21 Tracks, die während der zwei ausverkauften Shows im Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona am 20. und 21. November aufgenommen wurden.

Die DVD-Veröffentlichung auf dem Label Mute ist mit umfangreichem Bonus-Material ausgestattet.

So finden sich vier alternative Bonus-Tracks aus den beiden besagten Konzerten, die Tourdokumentation Inside The Universe, zwei in New York während der Proben aufgenommene Stücke sowie die von Anton Corbijn exklusiv gedrehten Filme für die Bühnenprojektionen zu sieben Songs plus zusätzliche Bildmontagen von Aufnahmen diverser Bühnenbildschirme.
