Die Anthology zu 30 Jahren Erasure

Best of Alben gab es von Erasure – analog zu Depeche Mode – schon viele. From Moscow To Mars – An Erasure Anthology geht anlässlich des 30. Geburtstages der Band darüber weit hinaus und soll eine besondere Note vermitteln, denn das Material wurde von den beiden Protagonisten persönlich ausgesucht.

Die Anthology umfasst 13 CDs/DVD und bietet mehr als 200 Tracks. Als Erscheinungsmonat wurde der Oktober 2016 ausgesucht.

Hits, Raritäten und Extramaterial

Der sowohl mit den vielen Hits und mit ausgewählten Raritäten gespickte Inhalt wendet sich an eine große Zielgruppe. Er ist relevant für Synthfans, die sich ihre Bandsammlung aufbauen wollen und macht zudem Sinn für Hardcore-Fans, denen das Extramaterial und vor allem der DVD-Mitschnitt der legendären Wild!-Tour am Herzen liegen.

Erasure, das war für Vince Clarke nach seinem Ausstieg bei Depeche Mode auch das Ende einer längeren Suche (Yazoo, The Assembly) nach dem passenden Musikpartner und somit der Beginn einer Erfolgsgeschichte.

Die Synthiepop-Szene wurde von den Briten trotz beachtlicher späterer Erfolge sicher besonders bis zur Mitte der 90er Jahre maßgeblich geprägt. Um so erfreulicher, dass vieles aus der vom Songwriting so starken frühen und mittleren Phase enthalten ist.

From Moscow To Mars – An Erasure Anthology wohnt insgesamt der Status des (vorläufigen) Vermächtnis inne, auch wenn langjährige Fans natürlich einen Großteil der Songs schon besitzen. Ein Aspekt, der sicher so gut wie jede Compilation betrifft.
